Surgical Removal
Wart removal treats persistent HPV-caused growths using in-office techniques when over-the-counter options haven't worked. Depending on the wart's type, size, and location, your dermatologist may use freezing, minor surgical removal, or other targeted treatments to clear it.

Most warts are treated with cryotherapy (freezing) over one or more sessions; stubborn or larger warts may be treated with minor surgical removal, electrocautery, or other in-office methods.
Treated areas may blister and scab before healing over one to two weeks; multiple sessions are sometimes needed for complete clearance.
Myth: Once a wart is removed, it can never come back. Fact: Because warts are caused by a virus, recurrence is possible even after successful treatment, though most clear permanently after appropriate care.
